Yuki Gambaryan, wife of Tigran Gambaryan, a detained executive of Binance Holdings Limited, has made an emotional plea to the Nigerian government, urging them to unconditionally release her husband.

Tigran Gambaryan, along with Nadeem Anjarwalla, the Regional Manager of Binance for East and West Africa, was detained on February 26, 2024, on the orders of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

While the Nigerian government declared that Anjarwalla had escaped custody on March 22 and fled the country, efforts are underway, in collaboration with Interpol, to bring him back.

On Thursday, April 4, 2024, the Federal High Court in Abuja scheduled April 8 for ruling on an objection raised by Gambaryan. Represented by his lawyer Mark Mordi (SAN), he opposed being arraigned before Justice Emeka Nwite, arguing that the EFCC couldn’t arraign him without serving Binance, listed as the first defendant in the charge.

In the five-count charge dated March 28, filed by the anti-graft commission, the trio is accused of money laundering amounting to $35,400,000.

However, Gambaryan’s wife maintains her husband’s innocence, stressing that he doesn’t hold a managerial position within the company.

In a letter obtained by reporters on Thursday, she implored the Nigerian government to allow Gambaryan to return home to her and their children.
